Opportunities for Spiritual Growth
through Service

The Lord charges us with witnessing to those who do not yet know Him. One of the ways we do this is by showing God's love and mercy to members of our community. And as we do this, we find our faith is strengthened. We serve the less fortunate in our area through a variety of programs. Here are just a few:

King George County Food Bank

Micah Ecumenical Ministries

Heart Havens

Chicken BBQ Dinner - For more than 20 years, the Trinity United Methodist Women and United Methodist Men have organized a Chicken BBQ dinner as their primary fundraiser for outreach and missions. Because it is such a large undertaking, they need the participation of everyone in the church, through donating food items, barbecuing the chicken, packaging the dinners, and selling tickets.

Summer Lunch Bunch - The Summer Lunch Bunch organization is run by volunteers who are members of local churches in collaboration with King George / Fredericksburg area community partners. Each Tuesday and Thursday during the summer, volunteers gather to coordinate in-person delivery of bag lunches to students living in the community. During summer 2013, the Lunch Bunch made and delivered approximately 5,900 sandwiches to "at risk" children.

Love Thy Neighbor - A faith-based volunteer organization dedicated to meeting the nutritional, emotional and spiritual needs of others through the generosity of neighbors helping neighbors throughout King George and surrounding communities.
